There has always been a dark and racist side to Kobach’s politics

Whether campaigning for Secretary of State, Governor, or U.S. Senate, KS Cris Kobach takes on the persona of Mr. all American, friend of the populous usually appears casually dressed, boyish, and flashing his charming smile at campaign stops, in posters, and videos. Kobach uses props like the jeep painted like an American flag and sporting two fake rifles on mounts he rode around in during campaign stops when running for KS governor and the backdrop for his campaign announcement that has the words “we need the wall” in large bold letters at the bottom.

But Most Kansans, and even most Americans have no inkling of the dark side of KS Cris Kobach’s political history or a decades old desire to restrict voting rights and for harsh immigration policy. Kobach has done legal work for a couple of White Nationalist organizations and has been affiliated with others. Kobach’s political past has proven emphatically that the Senate candidate is a hard core right wing ideologue.
