The day after Beto O’Rourke announced he would be running for the 2020 Democratic party nomination for president, he received over six million dollars in campaign contributions. Whether it is O’Rourke’s pizazz, his youthful energy, or his ability to connect with Americans of all ages, sexes, economic levels, and cultures there is something there that draws millions to his side.

Moderate, Progressive, or both?

In his 2018 run to unseat tea party Senator Ted Cruz, Beto O’Rourke was endorsed by a surprising number of Evangelical Christian women, most of whom are over thirty. These women describe Mr. O’Rourke as providing a stark moral contrast to Trump, whose policies and behavior are seen as fundamentally anti-Christian, especially separating immigrant children from their parents at the border, banning many Muslim refugees, and disrespecting women.
