Not all outsourcing is about ‘stuff’. It can be the outsourcing of technical or medical services, health care companies and other service companies as well which is the case with the company my son works for. Tell my son and the other 60–100 employees who have already been let go and those yet to be let go that the road to protectionism should be allowed to run its course. Many have families and children, they have rent or mortgages and utilities to pay, along with food and household and personal items, car payments and/or insurance to pay, etc. That’s kind of hard to do when you don’t have a job and unemployment benefits do not pay nearly enough to allow them to pay bills. A few have been forced to take new jobs with a pay cut of up to 25%. And many of the investment firms and banks are made up of ‘both’ American and foreign companies like the company outsourcing the data center, it is owned by India. This isn’t about the road to protectionism. . .it is about adulterated greed by both American and foreign companies that are owned by the national or multi-national investment firms, not about the people who deserve to feel safe in keeping their jobs or those employees with families who deserve to be able to feed their families ‘now’.
