Bullying of students in high school sports and certain classes is on the rise

Bullying by students, and even some school staff in schools has been a problem for decades and was directed at students who were different or belonged to certain social groups, whether it was for their physical appearance, a physical or developmental diagnosis, were black, and LGBTQ students. In high school, a girl I had grown up with was openly dating a black student and both were ostracized by their peers. Most LGBTQ students stayed in the closet to avoid persecution or violence in the community.

The Influence of religion and politics on bullying

With religion now firmly embedded in the political arena, primarily among far-right extremist factions of the Republican party, the result has been a dramatic increase in bullying. Evangelical leaders like Pat Roberts, and Ralph Reeds faith and freedom coalition first put their own strict, biblical teachings in place by backing the presidential campaign of George W Bush, donating hundreds of millions of dollars to his campaign along with other Conservative candidates and organizations at the local, state, and federal level.
